Every reader of this short article has been a fan of the sire and the dam but when it comes to breeding, do you have all the facts right? What types of information can you provide to a puppy mill owner? While it may be impossible to decide who to send your pups to breed for, you can help them decide.

There are so many different types of mills, from the “old fashion” type to the very modern, high tech ones. While your breeder may not be as experienced as the pros and perhaps doesn’t quite know as much about your pup, they can still have your Pomeranian’s best interests at heart. Many times a pup that is sent to a wrong mill can wind up in a place worse than the one it was originally sent to.

A Pomeranian, because of its size, is often sent to a puppy mill. You can help by getting one that is well socialized and has a good temperament. Additionally, you want to know what type of Pomeranian you want, rather than which breeds they will breed for. In a Pomeranian’s natural habitat, it is considered a dog, not a terrier.

A German Shepherd and a Pomeranian would not make a very good combination. Your breeder should know this by heart, if you ask them for a puppy from one of these two, they’ll understand if you explain why the puppy they get is a German Shepherd.

Keep in mind that the breeders that advertise that they can take care of just about any problem are probably not Drake. The one thing a breeder can do is refer you to a vet if they think something might be wrong with your Pomeranian. A vet can help evaluate the pup’s health and give you a thorough history. Also, you will probably find that the vet will refer you to a breeder that has the proper temperament, for the Pomeranian in question.

While you are searching for a breeder, you should be clear on the type of care that Drake will receive from that breeder. Do they use human genetics or not? In some cases, a breeder is fully human.

However, most human owners don’t give their dogs as much exercise as they should and will not have a lot of social interaction with their dog. By taking a Pomeranian to a breeder, you are establishing yourself as someone who takes his pup seriously.

People who breed poodles, do not expect their pups to roam free, go to public places, chew on furniture, or get into fights with other dogs. This is especially true if they are being bred for the show ring. A good breeder will have no problem explaining that your poodle will live in a kennel, and that his life will be run as a very regimented routine.
